'Platypus-zilla' fossil discovered in Australia
People have now found a biggest know platypus in Australia about 15 million years ago. This fossil was discover in November 5th,2013 at Riversleigh fossil field in northwestern Queensland, Australia. Scientists think this animal would frow about 3.3 feet long, which is two time bigger than today playtypus.They called this animal or fossil Obdurdon dicksoni, the ancestor platypus. Something else that is special is modern platypus don't have teeth and Obdurdon dicksoni do.
I choose this article because it is science topic in our rubric. I also think this is abit history because it is talking about the history of the platypus. I think this discovery is very cool, because we know what platypus ancestor look like and we can compare this so modern platypus. I think this fossil can help us know or guess where they live in the pass, because they found it in Australia so maybe the Obdurdon dicksoni have been living in Australia. I also think this fossil can help scienctist know what time period does the Obdurdon dicksoni live.
